What is Denver Kids?
Denver Kids is a Denver nonprofit founded in 1946 by Denver Public Schools and the Rotary Club of Denver. It supports students through long-term educational advising, academic and social-emotional support, enrichment, future planning and volunteer mentorship. A mission born from a local need
Denver Kids began on September 6, 1946, as Denver Boys, Inc. The organization was created after World War II, when some young men were leaving school to help support their families. Denver Public Schools and the Rotary Club of Denver partnered to help students graduate, find employment and build a path forward. Denver Girls launched in 1970, and the programs merged as Denver Kids in 1993.
